Vitamin E

Reading Time: < 1 minute

An important and essential nutrient for the body, Vitamin E is responsible for cell structure, the activities of certain enzymes and the formulation of red blood cells. Vitamin E is also an antioxidant, protects the lungs and other tissues from free-radicals and may help to protect against heart disease, cancer and other disorders. Vitamin E can also aid with skin healing by using oils and creams containing the nourishing vitamin.

Vitamin E is fat soluble which means it can be stored in the body’s tissues for long periods of time and is only found in limited food sources, many being high in fats including nuts and seeds, particularly hazelnuts, almonds and sunflower seeds, green leafy vegetables, fortified cereals and vegetable oil. Therefore supplements may be very useful in ensuring you have healthy amounts of Vitamin E in your body.
