Vitamin D

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Naturally produced by the body when the skin is exposed to sunshine (UV B Rays), Vitamin D is an essential nutrient for the body. Vitamin D helps to regulate calcium and phosphorus by supporting their absorption in the body, which is needed for healthy bones & teeth and may slow down the progression of osteoporosis.

Just a few minutes in the sun each day is enough for the body to produce Vitamin D, but other sources include oily fish, egg yolks, liver and fortified cereals. However deficiencies in Vitamin D are common as the body’s ability to manufacture Vitamin D does decline with age and some people may not get enough sunlight in the winter to produce adequate amounts.

To maintain a healthy diet and maintain your levels of Vitamin D, a supplement may be a great choice for you.
